L’Echo touristique was born in 1934, even before paid vacations were introduced in 1936! It appeared four years before the creation of the SNCF and one year after the founding of Air France. The magazine’s earliest ancestor, called Le Jeu, primarily covered the world of casinos. Since then, the professional magazine has witnessed major transformations: the development of the first holiday villages, the first transatlantic flight, the rise of distribution networks, not to mention the creation of the Minitel and the advent of the Internet… The magazine’s history, which has always aimed to decode and analyze trends for industry professionals, is inseparable from the history of the tourism sector itself.
